Elizabeth J. Cockerill, O.D.
OD — Comprehensive Eye Care, Contact Lenses & Surgical Co-Management
Dr. Elizabeth Cockerill grew up on a 3rd generation grain farm in Greenfield, Ohio. She joined Mid Ohio Eye in 2012. She truly enjoys seeing patients of all ages and needs; from fitting a child with their first pair of contact lenses, to treating someone with a red eye, to taking care of a cataract patient before and after surgery, she loves the variety of patients she can provide care to at Mid Ohio Eye and getting to know multiple generations of families. She has been a clinical assistant professor for Ohio State University College of Optometry, helping educate 4th year extern students on rotations in our office.
Dr. Cockerill enjoys working with the special needs population, serving as Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes program since 2012, leading a group of volunteers to provide eyecare and eyeglasses to Special Olympic athletes from all around Ohio.
Dr. Cockerill is a long time Realeyes presenter, educating classrooms around central Ohio about their eyes. She also is an iSee provider; travelling to schools around central Ohio to provide eye exams for students in need.
In her free time, Dr. Cockerill enjoys coaching her daughters’ basketball teams, rollerblading, trying to keep her flower garden alive (peonies are her favorite), baking sweet treats, cheering on the OSU Buckeyes, and travelling to see new places with her husband and 2 daughters.
